The Justice Project
The Law Council of Australia has been conducting a national, comprehensive review, called The Justice Project, since 2017 into the state of access to justice in Australia. The Justice Project, has been overseen by a Steering Committee of experts led by former High Court Chief Justice, the Hon. Robert French AC.
The Project focussed on 13 priority groups who were identified as facing significant social and economic disadvantage and the Final Report contained 59 recommendations. The recommendations ranged from greater resourcing to the expansion of appropriate models of legally assisted ADR for more vulnerable client groups.
