Leadership at this time

We are all leaders – of our families, our organisations, our communities and of each other. We also care for them.

John Maxwell said:
“Great leaders always seem to embody two seemingly disparate qualities. They are both highly visionary and highly practical.” Maxwell, “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership” (1998)

Drawing on my professional experience and international best practice in risk management, I have prepared an information graphic entitled “Pandemic/ Catastrophic Event: Leadership in a Crisis”:

I trust that it will be of some, small, practical assistance as a visual aid and in providing perspective. Please note:
• The 4 sectors evolve and are not necessarily equal in time span
• The “monitor, review and communicate” concept is central to all effective risk management
• The pandemic extends, at least, into 2 sectors because COVID-19 is not a single event (e.g. like a bushfire) but is a continuing one so that the response/ recovery stages can overlap
• As a Leadership graphic, it does not give detailed content or advice but seeks to highlight the key concepts

Stay safe and well.
