Cybersecurity Research Bootcamp 2019 - The privacy and cybersecurity intersection

It was a great privilege to be invited to present at the Industry Presentation Day, Cybersecurity Research Bootcamp 2019, held at the Joint Cybersecurity Centre in Adelaide, SA, in January 2019. Cybersecurity expert Dr Matthew Sorell, University of Adelaide and Tallinn University of Technology, convened the conference with a range of cybersecurity experts covering topics ranging from network management, human factors impacts, privacy and data breach regimes, maritime cybersecurity, smart cities and deep fake video analysis.

In presenting on the topic “Cybersecurity and Privacy: An Australian legal perspective” I addressed recent developments in relation to the privacy/ cybersecurity intersection, including Australia’s recently introduced data breach notification regime and the key elements of an effective cybersecurity framework.
