Biggest consumer law fine upheld - what a headache!

Reckitt Benckiser’s appeal against the biggest consumer law fine ($6m) was dismissed by the High Court on 5 April 2017.

The claim that Nurofen could target specific pain areas was held to be misleading at trial and in the Full Federal Court.  The initial fine of $1.7m was overturned by the Full Federal Court and tripled to $6m.  The High Court dismissed Reckitt Benckiser’s appeal.
